Friday night 30th July, 2010 @20:30 BST
Mod : VW Beetle v2.11 CLICK
Track : Vitus Parc International v2.0 CLICK
Race : 20 laps.

Special feature : After your signup aplication is filled in, you will get a team mate, and the car you will drive. AI driver that  you share seat time with.
Tyre wear : Normal. (this means you wont have to chance tyres at pitstops.)
Fuel wear : Normal. Driver change at every pitstop. (Beetle tank 50 litres)
Damage : 0 (NO DAMAGE)
Tyre types : 60 deg, 70 deg, 80 deg. All 3 types have the exact same grip & wear. Use 80 deg as they are warmer at start.

AI team mate : Is given to you after you fill in the signup aplication. LINK
AI cars lap times differ from 4:43 to 4:48 at 100% AI game speed. (I might turn this up higher/faster after further testing)
You have no controll on this, as you pull out of the basket (sorta) your team mate.
This race is to be taken as a tounge in cheak fun race, as you get a lot of off track time chatting, waiting for your turn to race again. Should be fun watching Dick, Jennifer, Fred, Gus, Jeremy etc etc. race. Tongue Lips Sealed Sad Wink Grin
Some AI will (might) pit in a lap before others, so that might be an advantage for some, but pitstops are the only place for driver change.

Pit stop driver change : Is to be done by clicking the mapped (I) key ONLY ON PIT LANE. You can let the AI do the stop or take over once in pitlane and drive to the crew for fuel fill up. NO TYRE change needed. You will have to take tyre change off - in car command when race starts. (or on grid is safer - 30 secs time)  Wink
Pit stop is only 6-9 seconds for fuel. Damage is set OFF on server.

Preparation: This track is a sorta complex string track, but very flowing and fun to drive with the Bug. Please put in a bit of effort to learn the track. Jump in the car and let the AI drive, watch it for some laps, gears, lines etc etc. it shouldnt take long to get it going at reasonable speed. Do some driver changes practice to get used to it also. Learn the pit entry place and were to hit the pit lane limiter.
Once you get the lines and gears right, you might find it fun to drive around, like I do.

That's an odd one. I use Chrome (on XP) and have never seen a problem at RFC.

I first thought that it was a RFC thing but all the other sites open fine. I am still on XP too, dunno what to make of it all.

Sounds like fun, I'll pop onto the server tonight to give it a try. Does the AI have to drive with my setup? That could be interesting Cheesy

OK, fixed the server to allow AI controll. Join teamspeak if you need assistance in how to get the "I key" mapped.
Your fellow AI driver (car) will be announced tomorrow an hour or 2 before practice time.

AI was just about to pit at end of his sixth lap and lost connection, darn.
Was getting bored in any case, track to long and cars a bit bland for long time entertainment.

Hope the rest who finished enjoy.

I was enjoying it, although the wait between driving, did take its toll. I couldn't complete a clean lap, after I got back in. My concentration rose, when I was suddenly only 8 secs behind Jouni. As we started the last lap, with around 4 secs seperating us, I shifted down instead of up. The engine blew on the rise into turn one... lol.

Grats to Jouni and Bruce who finished 1st n 3rd, respectively.

Catch you on the morrow, for some cat action. I only wish I could get TS to work, just for the crack. Last years event, nearly had me bent out of shape... lol.

No wonder my ai driver was so slow... Zachery... I ask you?...
